Celebrating the best year of our lives!

It's so hard to believe that a whole year has already passed since last summer when Brady and I tied the knot! Some people say the first year of marriage is the hardest, and while I do agree it's an adjustment, it has proved to be the happiest year of our lives so far. It feels so good to be settled into our own home.

As many of you know, Yankton holds a special place in both of our hearts, so we thought it appropriate to celebrate a year of marriage there. We "roughed it" in the Holiday Inn Express one night and stayed in a little cabin on the lake the second night. We had beautiful weather and a fun relaxing time of celebrating the year God blessed us with. Yankton is very special to me because my family and I spent so much time camping there while I was growing up (it's probably my favorite childhood memory)Brady knew how much I loved Yankton, so on July 14, 2007 he proposed to me on the lake while the sun was setting, what a romantic! I often say if I had to do the whole wedding over again, I would consider doing an outdoor wedding at Yankton, but I would never want to plan a whole wedding again!! Thank goodness they are good for life :) Maybe we will renew our vows there someday in the future.

I'm ending this blog with part of a prayer that is very meaningful to me. Our mothers read it during our wedding ceremony and it really speaks for itself. It reminds me that God is faithful and that I'm blessed to be celebrating one year of marriage to my best friend. May there be many more to come!

"Bless Brady and Tina, Develop there character as they walk together. Give them enough joys to keep them content. Give them enough tears to keep them tender and enough hurts to keep them humane. Give them enough successes to assure them that You are always walking with them and enough failures to keep their hands clenched tightly in Yours. May they never take each others love forgranted but but always experience that breathless wonder that exclaims "Out of all this world you have chosen me." When life is done and the sun is setting, may they be found then as now; still hand in hand, still thanking God for each other. May they serve You happily and faithfully together, until at last, one shall lay the other in the arms of God. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, the great lover of our souls. Amen."
A Kroeze wedding dance tradition is to do the "alligator" as some people may know it to the song "Taking Care of Business" by BTO. We enjoyed this tradition at our wedding and I even did the entire song in my wedding dress - you can see on the video below that this involves rolling around on the ground. It was well worth it and I'm so glad we got part of it on video. Enjoy!
